I’ve been fantasizing about gallery walls for over 2 years now. I’ve been pinning away on Pinterest all the pictures that make me want to recreate such a space in my own apartment.
Our “Wall of frames”
But it’s not as simple as that, for my SO and myself would really want everything framed or hanging on said wall to be something close to our hearts.
Wicker mirror from La Redoute
“Customizable date” print by Edubarba
Print that is actually a “poo-shaped” cookie packaging (Koreans love those) that we brought back from Seoul
Pretty prints with “Work hard”, “Be Kind”, “Love what you do” & other mantras are great for decorating, but I want it to have real meaning for us (and maybe I just don’t want to be constantly motivated: just let me be mean and procrastinate! haha).
“Bear of few words” illustration, on which you can read “bear” if you come real close SeventyTree
“Mouth Fuji” illustration by Lim Heng Swee
Cross stitch embroidery made by my “Babe” as a hymn to my (our) sweet tooth
Calligraphy made at the Louis Vuitton “Cabinet d’écriture” at St Germain des Prés (who will guess the film reference?)
With all that in mind, it took us forever to complete the wall above our tv (and even now there’s still a space to be had above the mirror; and let’s not even talk about the other wall).
Vintage tennis racket customized by myself
Illustration of my SO & me, made by myself
I wanted to show you our modest wall decor, with – and it’s unusual enough to be noted – a tad of DIY, since I managed to customize this vintage tennis racket with embroidery thread, taking my inspiration from a photo I found on Pinterest. (English translation by Bleu Marine)
