You see them regularly in my outfit posts, but as they are a bit frustrated to be observed only from afar, I’m putting them in the limelight for a whole post: my bracelets!

I wear them 24/7. I’ve always been on the lookout for bracelets that could be worn under the shower, while sleeping and that wouldn’t bother me when I was working or drawing: bracelets of a lifetime if you want.

I’m not one of these girls who pick out bracelets every morning: I’m way too lazy for that. I need to be “bracelet-operational” as soon as I get up! If I could wake up already made up and ready to step out the door, it’d be absolute heaven, but that’s another matter. Well, let’s get to it and let those trinkets enjoy their hour of fame:

My “Dinh Van” cuffs

One is silver and was a gift from the brand a couple years back: it hasn’t blackened since, even with trips to the pool!

The other one is a heart shape in white gold, and was a gift from my SO, as a symbol of our unconditional and indestructible love (well…undestructible until we have to decide who’s turn it is to clean up). I will however have to think about changing the bracelet strands, as it turns out it is neither unconditional nor indestructible.

My silver “Mya Bay” rushes

I discovered the brand in the Kure store in Brussels: the first silver plated rush bracelet appeased my urge to get a “Love” bracelet from Cartier. And when I saw that it was holding up pretty well, I got 2 more from the same brand: one with “I don’t care I love it” inscribed, and another one with a leaf shape.

I’m all the more happy with them that I often get complimented on them. Only issue: I do have to take them off when I go to the pool… but no problem with the shower… except if you should decide to shower with bleach, but that seems doubtful.

My precious “Les Poinçonneurs”

My friend Adeline recently created her own jewelry brand. I knew she was talented and passionnate: and here is visual proof.

I loved the silver Bastille rush bracelet because it’s simple yet not quite so simple, and it reminds me of a band of the same name that I love.

And another one, a bit thinner (and also in silver) called “Austerlitz”, with two thin and delicate rings. I love them even more knowing that Adeline molded them entirely by hand. She worked long hours on these, probably by candlelight and with a ferocious wind screaming outside her window… it really adds a personal dimension (and dramatical one at that) to the piece. Hehe, I’m really an incurable sentimental.

So that’s that on what I wear around my wrists: I won’t digress on my 100% fake cat-watch, but I’ll probably cry the day it dies. So here are my essentials, you know everything. (English translation by Bleu Marine)

Unidentified Large Jeans

· Fashion

I was telling you about the “cropped flare” and for everyone visual sake, I don’t think I will give in to this trend: too difficult to tame unless your are as thin as Alexa, and I am not even sure.

However, the jeans I wear today are not less dangerous but as soon as I saw them on the website, I found them utterly charming. I really liked the high-waisted and the unidentified shape. Neither flare, nor baggy, nor boyfriend. I can’t find a name for them.

Today, I played it safe by pairing it with kitten heels but I can easily picture them with my Superstars or derbies for a perfect boyish effect. Did I make the right choice?

Cooking class at Les Barmes

· Fashion, Food, Illustration, Travel

So there you go, the two recipes that I was lucky to make with the talented chef Alain Lamaison, the one and only that fed me so well during my stay at the hotel Les Barmes de l’Ours. I hope that you understand it all and that you will be able to reproduce it all at home !

I admit being a little intimidated at first (remember that not so long ago, I was a kitchen lost cause ?) but he was able to put me at ease and share his experience and his passion by answering my questions (no doubt trivial for him) and by telling loads of anecdotes about his craft. I didn’t want to leave the kitchen !

To tell you all, this culinary cooking class was my favourite moment of this trip (and god knows there was competition between the perfection of the spa, the snowshoe treck, the cocktails in front of the logfire…) : I was lucky to get a front row seat in food prep, assist the team that is present in every front (making the buffet, menus for the 3 restaurants and room service) but above all, I loved talking to the chef, my hands covered in butter and chocolate.

If you have a chance to visit Val d’Isère and that you feel like cooking and talk to a talented chef, the hotel organises cooking classes for all. All the info is down here.

Sniff…it’s over…

Our big saga of Les Barmes de l’Ours is ending, in the middle of the butter and the chocolate that is. I hope that all these mountainous episodes were to your liking (At least if you missed a few, you can find all of them at the end of this post). Anyway, I absolutely loved to transcribe this to you, it’s as if I was reliving my stay a second time !

I am aware of the immense luck that allowed me to live these exceptional moments in altitude, around a team of friendly and professional people but also with you. I am getting off my little cloud, of my snowy mountain and I say good weekend to you ! (English translation by TradIsa)
